A heartbroken mum and dad were taught to love "harder than we ever knew" during the tragically short hours spent with their baby son. Ronnie Nichols made them a family, they said, but it soon became clear 'he couldn't stay'.
Katie Johnson described her little Ronnie as "seven pounds of perfect". Born on June 16, it is thought there were complications with the umbilical cord during the birth.
As reported by Teesside Live, neonatal staff battled through the night to save Ronnie, his parents constantly at his side. The following morning the devastated couple agreed to withdraw active treatment.
