Short Covering Lifts Sugar Prices as the Dollar Weakens

July NY world sugar #11 (SBN25) Monday closed up +0.27 (+1.57%), and August London ICE white sugar #5 (SWQ25) did not trade today, with markets in the UK closed for the May Day holiday.

Sugar prices on Monday settled moderately higher as a weaker dollar (DXY00) prompted short-covering in sugar futures after last week's sell-off.
