Short circuit on convey route

Security personnel panicked for sometime when an electrical short circuit and blast was noticed in a street light pole on the route of Union Home Minister Amit Shah near Mount Carmel College on Friday evening.

Senior police officials led by City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant visited the spot and changed the route map of Mr. Shah as a precautionary measure.

A senior officer said that power supply was disconnected and a team of officials from electrical inspectorate and BESCOM visited the spot to rectify the problem.

Earlier traffic movement in and around the BJP office in Malleswaram was restricted for sometime due to Mr. Shah’s visit. People who visited Malleswaram market for Ugadi shopping had to face tough time.
