Shoppers staggered by £7 Superdrug 'plumping' serum that reduces wrinkles 'overnight'

Shoppers have been left wowed at the results of a £7 anti-ageing serum from Superdrug that completely transforms the skin, with some claiming it has "reduced wrinkles and fine lines" overnight.

Superdrug's Optimum skincare range is specially formulated with highly effective ingredients, such as retinol and collagen, that target the signs of ageing - and one product is receiving rave reviews for doing what it promises.

The health and beauty retailer's Optimum Retinol Serum has managed to amass hundreds of fans who say it has left their skin "plumped up" and "looking healthier", whilst also "smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles". Priced at £14.99 for regular shoppers, Superdrug Health and Beauty card holders can snap the serum up for just £7.49.

For the skincare enthusiasts among us, retinol is one of the most highly sought after ingredients for its ability to target signs of hyperpigmentation, acne and fine lines. Superdrug claims that its targeted serum is not only anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle, but that it can improve skin texture and tone as well.

A product description for the anti-ageing serum reads: "Featuring the highest level of RETINYL PALMITATE (0.4%) in the Optimum Retinol Range, this light textured serum is supercharged with additional Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to help improve the appearance of skin and uneven skin tone. Includes ENCAPSULATED RETINYL PALMITATE (2%) for optimal delivery and reduced potential for irritation and green seaweed, Tulsi and Lady's Thistle help to calm and restore skin barrier function."

Shoppers say they have noticed a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles (Superdrug)

The anti-ageing serum has garnered extremely positive reviews from shoppers who say that it has made a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles within just a few uses.

"I was looking for a serum containing retinol and came across this on special offer. It absorbs into the skin well and smells lovely. I’ve only been using it a couple of weeks but I can see a slight reduction in wrinkles and my skin looks healthier. Very pleased with this purchase", raved one shopper.

"I have had retinol serums before and they tend to make my skin react. But as retinol is the new anti wrinkle win, i have persevered and im glad i did. This serum is light enough to use with your moisturiser or on its own. My skin seems to really like it. I feel a. Have had a notable reduction in fine lines with zero reaction. Very happy. Can recommended the retinol eye cream from the same range", said a second happy customer.

"I bought this a week ago on offer as my usual vitamin e serum was out off stock. I have been using it every other night. The fragrance is light and the texture is amazing not sticky and sinks in straight away. I only use the pea size amount recommended and boy is it enough. Already I can notice a difference to my fine lines around my mouth, my face is so soft in the morning and plumped up. A little goes a long way so will last for ages will definitely buy again", wrote a fourth.

"First tine using anything like this and I can say im very impressed! Easy to apply, leaves skin feeling so soft, I have some sensitive areas on my face but with this serm iv not had any irritation. Definitely be using this again, very happy with the result!", commented a fifth.

Shoppers can purchase the Optimum Retinol Serum for just £14.99, while Health and Beauty cardholders can pick it up for £7.49. You can also shop the full Superdrug Optimum skincare range online.
