Shoppers dub this Harry Styles song to be next supermarket advert hit

Social media users think they’ve guessed which track of 2022 is set to become the next ‘Hold My Hand’ by Jess Glynne, used in supermarket and travel adverts. And we kind of hope they’re right.

No-one can hear Jess’s number one single without thinking about that Jet2Holidays advert, and she could be passing the baton over to the latest pop sensation: Harry Styles.

The release of his third studio album on May 20 saw Harry’s House join the UK album charts at number one - and one track in particular has been picked up as the fan favourite for TV adverts.

Abbie Budden, best known for hilariously imitating school teachers in comedy skits, created a voice over to the single Music For a Sushi Restaurant. She said: “I keep seeing people making videos saying that this song is going to be the next Jess Glynne Hold My Hand of the British adverts this summer and they’re so right.”

She then recreated a holiday advert voiceover which fit perfectly to the upbeat pop song, with commenters calling for Jet2Holidays to use the idea.

YorkshirePeach said: “@Jet2Holidays, literally that’s your summer ad done. She smashed that.”

Tadhg Russ added: “It’s also giving like clothes detergent videos with flowers and everything.” While @aaliy7hh said they could ‘defo hear this on Love Island during a challenge’.

But Abbie isn’t the only one to point out the advert suitability for the anthem, with @bobabubble writing: “Sorry to say it but I have a bad feeling this song will get the same treatment as Sax by Fleur East. Instant Argos advert.”

Sam Stocks, a Transport for London train announcer, added: “I believe that this arguably amazing song in a couple of days is going to be stolen by supermarket adverts.” He dove in with a similar voiceover to Abbie, sharing a fictional supermarket deal for Jubilee weekend, which sounded rather convincing.

And @teihurst suggested it would be used by American brand Target for their ‘back to school advert’, while @froOtsho0t said they could imaging it on a Marks and Spencer clothing advert.

Harry is set to perform in Manchester later this month at Emirates Old Trafford, with resale standing tickets going for £202.

Harry performed over 40 shows throughout the US at the end of last year winning praise from fans and critics alike. His gigs on June 15 and 16 are expected to be packed with his global hit singles including 'Sign of the Times', 'Lights Up', 'Adore You', 'Watermelon Sugar' and 'Kiwi'.

Fans can order Harry’s album ahead of the gig on Amazon for £11.99, or £24.95 on vinyl.
