Shoppers demand for discontinued crisps to be brought back after 'gutting' news

When it comes to popular foods, it can be hard to find alternatives with the original item being popular for a good reason.

So when people find out they are no longer available to buy, people can naturally feel a bit annoyed.

Recently one shopper revealed that the nostalgic Scampi 'n' Lemon flavoured Nik Naks crisps were coming back having been phased out around 14 years ago back in 2008.

This was in a bid to make room for their other popular flavour, Pickle 'n' Onion, which has since been discontinued. Although the lime packet can be purchased in multipacks, they were originally only available through this way with many people now happy to know they could buy them as individual packs.

But it seems another flavour which is dearly missed now has shoppers talking with many demanding its return. Taking to Facebook's Food Finds UK group, one foodie said that they missed a certain flavour of crisps by Walkers in the classic purple packaging - and they weren't the only one.

Writing in the caption they questioned: "Why are these discontinued only just found out?" and it seems others weren't aware of their discontinuation too.

In a tweet of June this year the company confirmed the heart-breaking news to one loyal fan saying: "We're really sorry to break the news, but we're no longer making our Worcester Sauce flavour Walkers Crisps."

One said: "I loved them and and the Ketchup flavour always bought them. Was gutted when they stopped selling them."

Another commented: "I’m actually gutted I’ve been looking for them everywhere I used to buy them all the time and then all the shops near me just stopped selling them."

"Omg I am upset lol. I love them so much my fav flavour" added a third.

But others pointed out that you could pick them up still but as part of a multi-pack in shops such as Lidl and Aldi.
