Morrisons has been accused of “laughing at” customers after a comparison of supermarket prices highlighted a string of cost increases.
Manchester Evening News has been recording a weekly price check of basics like milk and bread to see how they’ve changed over the months.
It comes as families continue to battle against the cost of living crisis at home and in stores.
The shopping bill for the same eight essentials has risen week after week at the six main supermarkets - Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
MEN notes how Morrisons has quickly climbed from the cheapest to the most expensive in a matter of weeks - from £9.78 at the end of May up to £11.78 now.

The website says the price of Morrisons own-brand 250g block of butter rose from £1.75 up to £1.99 - a hike of almost 14% - while baked beans rose from 25p to 29p.
Shoppers are less than impressed with the price hikes. "They're really taking the mick now," said one loyal Morrisons customer.
"I've shopped there for years, but the prices seem to be going up more than anywhere else. It feels like they're laughing at us."
Another said: "I know prices are going up everywhere, but there seems no end to it. I like the quality of Morrisons products, but I can't keep paying more."
The Mirror has contacted Morrisons for comment.
Last month, MEN reported how the bill for eight basics at all six supermarkets had topped £10 for the first time.
The comparison list is made up of a two-pint bottle of milk, a loaf of bread, coffee, teabags, butter, beans, chicken breasts and mince.
The cheapest supermarket now, according to MEN, is Asda with a total spend of £10.12.
Lidl is in the second spot at £10.17, with Aldi in third at £10.30. Tesco is fourth at £10.32, with Sainsbury's at £10.84 and Morrisons at £11.78.
