A Galway city shooter who let fire at a house during a late night gun attack may belong to a gang from Dublin.
Gardai are still on the hunt for a gunman, suspected to have been hired by another group also from outside Galway, who fired one shot at the door of a residence in the Coole Park area of Bohermore in Galway city on Wednesday night.
The shooting was believed to be carried out by a member of a gang from Dublin whose group have previously been behind arson attacks on homes in various parts of Galway.

A source told Galway Beo : "The shooter is believed to be from a Dublin gang and was hired by another group, also from outside Galway, to carry out the attack.
"The gang suspected to be behind this are also said to be behind arson attacks on houses in Ballybane, Westside and Tuam over the past year.
"They have also assaulted people. They have been constantly returning to Galway and causing crimes but this was the worst attack by far. "
Officers sealed off the scene after a technical examination was carried out by gardai on Thursday as investigations continue with thankfully nobody injured in the shooting.
No arrests have been made yet but officers are appealing for witnesses to get in touch including those who were in the area and who may have camera footage.
A spokeswoman for gardai told Galway Beo: "Gardaí are investigating the discharge of a firearm which occurred yesterday evening, Wednesday, 15th June 2022 in the Bohermore area outside of Galway city.
"The incident which took place at a residence in Coole Park occurred at approximately 10.30pm. A shot was fired at the door of the house. No injuries were reported.
"The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination has been completed by investigating Gardaí."
She added: "Gardaí in Galway are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. In particular, anyone who was in the area of Coole Park, Forster Court and surrounding roads between 10pm and 11pm and who may have information is asked to come forward.
