Shohei Ohtani continued to wow fans with his star power Thursday night when he hit his 22nd home run of the season, which now puts him into a tie for most in MLB alongside Mets first baseman Pete Alonso.
The 443-foot two-run home run vs. the Rangers was the Angels star’s sixth home run in June. And, he extended this streak on a night in which he was the starting pitcher. Ohtani shined on both sides of the plate.
During his six innings pitched, he gave up two runs and six hits and finished with three strikeouts.
Ohtani currently leads the American League with 22 home runs. Here’s his huge home run Thursday that ended up in the opposite field.

With Ohtani’s six June home runs, he’s on track to surpass his April (seven) and May (eight) totals. Last season, the ace finished with 34 home runs.
The Angels won 5–3 on Thursday night, meaning Los Angeles won the series 3–1 vs. the top seeded Rangers. The Angels remain in third place in the AL West behind the Astros.
