Shocking selfie footage shows moment that Russian bomb landed in Kharkiv

A video captured by a man on the ground in Kharkiv has shown the shocking moment that a bomb landed on the Ukrainian city.

A series of 'barbaric' attacks have meant that nearly 700,000 people have already fled Ukraine, as Russian missiles continue to rain down on Wednesday morning.

The UN refugee agency says more than 660,000 people - mostly women and children - have left the country so far since Russia invaded last Monday.

In the short video, the man is talking to the camera before you can hear the faint noise in the background of a jet.

Seconds later, he has to duck for cover as the bomb lands.

The video originally appeared on Telegram.

Kharkiv, which has a population of around about 1.4 million, was heavily bombed by Russian forces throughout Wednesday.

The Russian Ministry for Defence have said that 498 Russian soldiers have been killed so far in their invasion of Ukraine.

A further 1597 soldiers have been wounded, according to figures released by the Kremlin.

Meanwhile, Russia’s national team and domestic league have been removed from the FIFA videogame series by EA Sports.

A statement from EA Sports on Wednesday read: “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.

“In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products including: FIFA 22, FIFA mobile and FIFA online.

“We’re also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games.

“We will keep our communities up to date on any actions taken, and thank players for their patience as we work through these updates.”
