Shocking photos of horse trapped in clogged Dublin ditch

Firefighters came to the rescue of an endangered horse on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency workers from Swords and Phibsborough attended the unusual incident in Oldtown. The animal had become stuck in a water filled ditch and required urgent assistance.

The equine rescue was carried out using strops and a teleporter. A vet travelled to the scene to provide the horse with medical attention following its ordeal.

Dublin Fire Brigade posted images of the incident on Twitter. Several people praised them for their efforts, although they were unimpressed that the horse had been in distress in the first place.

One person wrote: “Well done on rescue, but really where is the owner and how are they going to be held accountable.” Animal Law Ireland also applauded emergency services, describing their care for the horse as “incredible.”
