Shocking moment British Airways London Heathrow flights loses wheel on takeoff

Video has captured the moment the wheel of a British Airways passenger plane fell to the earth seconds after takeoff.

The plane was taking off from Las Vegas on a flight to London Heathrow when the incident occurred.

Footage shows that after leaving the runway at Harry Reid International Airport, the aircraft’s landing gear was retracted.

However, a wheel can be seen falling from the plane before the operation is completed.

Fortunately, flight BA274 made it safely to London without any reported injuries, landing at Heathrow on Monday, flightradar24 reported.

No one on the ground in Las Vegas was injured by the falling wheel, which was recovered.

British Airways said in a statement: "Safety and security underpins everything we do and we're supporting the authorities with their investigations."

A spokesperson for Harry Reid International Airport said it was "aware of an incident involving a British Airways aircraft that departed LAS last night and continued on to London, where it landed safely without further incident".
