In a move we certainly weren't expecting, EA has laid off an unknown number of staff across its Battlefield studios, citing a "realignment" as the core reason.
This comes as a bit of a shock, especially since Battlefield 6 has now sold an estimated 20 million copies since launch last year. The initial launch saw the latest title in the series get a "mostly positive" review score on Steam and sell seven million copies in just three days.
