Shia LaBeouf has revealed his mum Shayna Saide had died while he was tangled in the feud with Don't Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde last month.
The furore between the former Even Stevens actor, 36, and Wilde, 38, has seen the latter come out and claim that she fired LaBeouf from her second feature film, which is due for release on September 22.
LaBeouf dismissed these accusations and insists he quit the role as the main character for the movie due to "scheduling issues" and it was recently revealed that Harry Styles - Wilde's current boyfriend - actually joined the cast as a last minute replacement.
LaBeouf told The Hollywood Reporter via email on Thursday that Saide had passed away in Los Angeles on August 27, one day after he denied claims that he had been fired from Wilde's movie.
Wilde said that she got rid of LaBeouf in order to protect co-star Florence Pugh, who allegedly said that she was "uncomfortable" around LaBeouf's behaviour on set.
Speaking to Variety last week, Olivia said: "His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions.
"He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances.
"I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them."
However, a leaked video has now emerged online of Olivia begging Shia to help her "figure this out" as Shia hit back at her claims he was fired from the movie.
Shia did not seemed to be fazed by the accusations and he responded to claims he had a "combative energy".
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "It is what it is - every blessing to her and her film."
It is believed that it is not the only feud that Olivia has had with co-stars since directing the film, with tensions growing between herself and leading star Florence.
The actress, 26, has been noticeably absent during the film's promotional events over the last few days at the festival, sparking rumours of a brewing feud behind the scenes.
Even though the movie has yet to be released, cracks reportedly started to show behind the scenes about casting and bitter relationships.
Florence – who pulled out of a few interviews – is confirmed to have skipped both the press conference and the photo call for the movie.
A source told the New York Post that Florence didn’t consider Harry and Olivia's relationship at the time to be very professional.
"I can tell you for a fact that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well," the insider told the publication.
