Organisers of the UK's ugliest dog contest are on the hunt for "truly hideous" mutts. And so far, they say, the entries have been disappointingly cute.
Perhaps excluding Peggy, a three year old pug cross Chinese crested dog from East Yorkshire. Her owner Holly Clark said 12 separate friends and relatives sent her details of the competition so she took the hint and applied.
"Everyone who meets her absolutely adores her but she gets a lot of attention when we’re out and about because of the way she looks," said Holly. "We think she’s the most beautiful dog inside and out."
