'She's asking where her daddy has gone' - Brother of missing Gateshead man Kyle Bird issues emotional plea for him to return home to family

The brother of a missing Gateshead man has issued a heartfelt appeal for him to return home saying that his daughter keeps asking where her daddy has gone.

Kyle Bird, 33, has been reported as missing since April 22 after he failed to return home or make contact with his loved ones.

A police investigation to try and find him has been ongoing ever since and now officers have confirmed that Kyle was last seen getting off the number 47 bus at the Metrocentre Interchange on April 23 at 2.08pm. A CCTV image of Kyle getting off the bus has been shared as part of the appeal in the hope that someone may recognise him and come forward with information.

Now, Kyle's brother, Kallum Bird, has issued a direct appeal to his brother asking him to get in touch with his family. He said that Kyle's six-year-old daughter, Annalise, is wondering why her dad isn't coming home.

"Please get in touch because your daughter is worried and misses you," Kallum said.

"She wants to know where you are and why you're not coming home."

Kallum, who is dad to Kyle's two nephews, said it is out of character for Kyle to not be seen around the Chopwell area. Describing his brother as an "outgoing" person, Kallum urged anyone with information to come forward.

"It's frustrating not knowing what's going on," Kallum said.

"It's been 35 days or so now and we've heard nothing from him and only had possible sightings that have turned out not to be him. It's very strange for him to be totally nowhere to be seen."

He continued: "Kyle knows a lot of people in Chopwell and it's strange that no one has come forward. He's always seen about so for it to have been a month with no sightings of him is not like him at all.

"That he lost his job two weeks prior to this happening makes it all the worse.

"I just want people to come forward with literally any information - it doesn't matter how small it is, anything helps."

Northumbria Police said they are growing increasingly concerned for Kyle's welfare as they urged anyone with information to get in touch. Kyle often visits the Blaydon shopping precinct, Chopwell and Rowlands Gill and frequently travels between these areas by bus.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Kyle is described as a white male, around 6ft 1in, with short brown hair and neck tattoos which say “Nanna, Mam and Kyle.”

"He has a small scar on his left cheek underneath his eye which reaches the top of his ear and was last seen via CCTV on the bus (pictured) wearing a grey tracksuit, black The North Face jacket and black trainers."
