More than a decade since the last solo Hulk film starring Edward Norton hit our screens, we’ll soon get to meet his just as green – but far less grouchy – cousin in a new series coming to Disney Plus.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows high-flying solicitor Jennifer Walters, whose life is turned upside down after Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk) gives her an emergency blood transfusion, transforming her into the 6ft 7in green goddess.
Tatiana Maslany steps into the high-heels of the title role, with the nine-episode series welcoming a host of MCU veterans, including Mark Ruffalo as the lucid ‘Smart Hulk’, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as sorcerer supreme Wong, recently seen in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
There are also some exciting new characters thrown into the mix, namely Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga and Renee.
The show is scheduled to drop on August 17.
Disney Plus’s official synopsis says She-Hulk: Attorney at Law ‘follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk’.

Elsewhere the video description states ‘You’ll like her when she’s angry’, paraphrasing the iconic line frequently uttered by a simmering Bruce Banner.
Just enough information to whet the appetite, then, but the new series will doubtless have repercussions in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the trailer hinting at a possible future role for She-Hulk in The Avengers – which our green hero is quick to dismiss.
She Hulk: Attorney at Law is directed by Kat Coiro (episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9) and Anu Valia (episodes 5, 6, 7), with Jessica Gao as head writer.
Who is She-Hulk?
One of the less high-profile Marvel characters, but still a formidable presence, She-Hulk made her debut in 1979's Savage She-Hulk #1, which immediately fleshed out her character with an intriguing origin story.
A skilled lawyer, Jennifer Walters enjoyed a charmed life until one day she gets gunned down by a crime boss pursuing a cruel vendetta against her.
Facing imminent death, her cousin Bruce performs an emergency blood transfusion on her.
Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it – he inadvertently passes some of his dangerous gamma radiation onto her, transforming her into She-Hulk.
Incredibly, in the comics Walters manages to swerve the anger issues synonymous with her cousin, thus enabling her to hold down her day job.
It is widely rumoured this origin story will make it into the new TV series, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
