When doctors in Warsaw asked a 59-year-old woman questions on admission, she sang religious songs back at them. She also sang spontaneously, without prompting. It was the most striking feature of a clinical picture dominated not by headache or vision loss, but by changed behavior.
The cause was a craniopharyngioma, a rare and non-cancerous tumor that had grown upward from the base of her brain into the third ventricle. Clinicians at the Medical University of Warsaw published the case in the February 2026 issue of Psychiatria Polska, the journal of the Polish Psychiatric Association.
