A Glasgow couple has been inundated with donations for those affected by the invasion of Ukraine.
Tetyana Barnes and Jason Barnes have been accepting donations after a call to action for Glaswegians for items to help those currently in the country was put out on social media.
In just a few days, Kwik Call Plumbing and Heating on Deanston Drive has been left covered in bags of donations with everything from clothes to food supplies to be transported to Ukraine or Poland in the coming days.
Tetyana, who is originally from Ukraine, has said they will continue to collect items for those in need until the war is over.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, she explained: "I have family still over in Ukraine, my sister, her son, and husband, and my brother and his two boys and wife. It's a very stressful time for all of us.
"My heart is breaking. Some kids have no food, some kids have no bed to sleep in. It's just very sad and disappointing that it's actually happening to people who don't deserve this.
"Nobody wanted this war, it's still shocking that it actually happened. All we can do is help and support by our donations that's how it makes us strong, so we're not just sitting here doing nothing.
"People have been amazing and really wanted to help. Scottish people are fabulous.
"There are thousands of Ukrainians in Glasgow so we're all working together to support the country."
The donations are due to be taken to the Church of Scotland in Cambuslang where they will be sorted through and organised before hopefully being transported to those who need them.
The couple is asking for donations for children in particular including medical supplies like Calpol, paracetamol, and cough medicine. They are also calling for baby formula and long-lasting food like rice, pasta, and sugar.
Tetyana added: "I've been speaking with people in Ukraine who are trying to supply most needed, we need medical supplies for children and babies. They need food because the shops are empty. "
Jason added: "It's very, very important to us that we help out the people of Ukraine as much as we can.
"We can't be there so this is the least we can do to give them some sort support, food-wise, and clothing. We'll keep doing this when they need it and until they need it. We're looking at logistical transport to get it to Ukraine but we're having some difficulties.
"They're living day by day with the unknown. Hopefully our donations will go on Friday and people will get the necessary supplies. They are desperate."
As well as donations, volunteers are being asked to come forward to help sort through the donations and help transport them to Cambuslang.
Donations can be left at Kwik Call Plumbing and Heating, 91 Deanston Drive, Shawlands.
