Shaughna Phillips begs fans not to 'mum-shame' her as she shares change to birth plan

Shaughna Phillips has begged her followers not to mum-shame her as she shares a birth update.

The former Love Island star, 28, looked fed up as she appeared on her Instagram stories on Wednesday to share the update on her overdue baby.

The reality TV star, who shot to fame on Love Island back in 2020, revealed that she is being induced on Sunday after her March baby decided that they wanted to be born in April instead.

A weary Shaughna held her head in her hands in a snap which she posted with her followers who have been sending well wishes her way in recent days as she impatiently awaits the imminent birth of her first child.

However, it seems that not all of Shaughna's followers have been as supportive.

The Love Island star released a 'polite reminder' to her fans and followers alike to think before they send her their birthing horror stories and has asked other parents to refrain from sending her 'mum-shaming' comments.

The expectant mum penned: "A polite request. Please refrain from sending me horror stories of being induced or your opinions on why me being induced is wrong for my baby.

"I appreciate you may mean well, but it is not helpful. As a first time mum you will know the anxiety I am already feeling and the last thing I need to hear is horrible experiences or being mum shamed."

Shaughna went on: "Thank you for all the lovely messages I have received, they far outweigh the negative ones."

Last week, the expectant mum spent the night in hospital thinking she was going to be induced as her due date approaches.

But, Shaughna later revealed that she had to wait it out.

The former Love Island star took to Instagram to show off her bump as she confirmed that she had not yet given birth to her first child.

Posing in her underwear to show off her huge bump, she penned: "Sorry guys I think I made a few of you think baby was here after I shared my placenta plus box!

"Baby is still very much snug as a bug it was just the preparation kit that was delivered."

Speculation sparked after Shaughna asked her mum followers on advice to find the right breast pump to buy.

"Mamas, I need some advice. I'm trying to decide what breast pump to buy, and there are way too many options," she wrote.

"Ideally, I want one that I can wear in a bra but don't want to rule any out, please let me know what one's worked for you."

Shaughna, who starred in winter Love Island in 2020, revealed in October that she and partner Billy Webb are expecting.

The mum-to-be later revealed she was taken to hospital after going into early labour.

Shaughna, 28, shared a video to document her day on her Instagram page to reveal her little one is on its way.

The reality star's video begins showing her arrival at a hotel to get her makeup done before she is seen travelling in a car.

The mum-to-be is then filmed being pushed in a wheelchair along a hospital corridor.

She wrote in the caption: "Soooo what started as a “come to work with me” reel, turned into a “come to the hospital with me” reel

"I had my last job before baby this morning, an international women’s day panel, and just before my cab arrived, things took a turn and I was on the way to the hospital, and have been told I’m in early labour @annalingis went from makeup artist to midwife REAL QUICK!

"Home now, baby still tucked up nicely, and waiting for nature to do it’s thang".
