Sharon Osbourne has said her husband Ozzy is on the road to recovery after he underwent “major” spinal surgery on Monday.
The former X Factor judge, 69, said the musician, 73, is “doing well” following the procedure that could “determine the rest of his life” and thanked fans for their support.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she wrote: “Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy ‘s surgery!
“Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him.”
Osbourne has Parkinson’s disease and previously suffered a nasty fall and dislodged metal rods placed in his spine following a quad-bike accident in 2003.
Appearing on The Talk last week, Mrs Osbourne vowed to remain by the Take What You Want hitmaker’s side as he recovered.
She said: “[Ozzy] has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there. It’s really going to determine the rest of his life.”
This year marks the couple’s 40th wedding anniversary and while they have infamously had their ups and downs, their love is still strong.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine earlier this month, Osbourne – who shares three children with her other half – said: “I love him more now than ever, I respect him. I do.”
Asked about her declaration by show host Lorraine Kelly, Osbourne added: “Because we all change, constantly, constantly evolving and he has evolved into a really great guy; he’s a good guy.”
