ITV's Sharon Marshall has been forced to apologise after seemingly confirming a Coronation Street exit on her weekly segment.
The 'soap Queen' appeared on This Morning on Wednesday, March 29 teasing viewers with what is yet to come in Corrie, Emmerdale, Eastenders and Hollyoaks.
Joining Holly Willoughby and co-host Joel Dommett, who is currently filling in for Phillip Schofield, Sharon touched on one of Corrie's latest hard-hitting storylines, which saw Amy Barlow raped by her friend Aaron Sandford.
The storyline comes amidst more upsetting scenes for the soap, following Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor's recent acid attack and Paul Foreman's upcoming motor neurone disease diagnosis reports Manchester Evening News.
Sharon was quick to defend the long-running soap after some viewers criticised it for bringing too many 'dark' storylines to the screen simultaneously.
"People are saying 'we want the humour' and the humour is still absolutely there," she told Joel, Holly and viewers watching at home.
"Coming up you've got Mary thinking she's off on an Italian getaway with Brian.
"Mary with stars in their eyes is something we all love to see. Will her hopes be dashed?"
However, Sharon went on to mention an upcoming story for Jodie Prenger who was introduced to the soap last year as Glenda Shuttleworth.
"Ruth Henshall is joining in a guest appearance, safely, this will though mean an exit for Glenda Shuttleworth. Can I officially say on this sofa can we please have her back."
Following the blunder, Sharon was forced to address the error, after being told her exit information was wrong.
"I am the biggest idiot," she started her tweet. "The iconic Jodie Prenger is NOT leaving Corrie. Glenda is staying. I am so so sorry, I got my wires crossed. She is staying. She is fabulous! @thismorning." And fans were quick to share their relief.
@soaps_extra said: "Thank god the best actress alongside Jenny and Daisy." @clarep1987 replied: "Oh good! I've really liked having her there. When she was "auditioning" for Daisy's wedding, too funny." @shanes_loonie wrote: "Fab news I was gutted when you said she was leaving." @curlytopsmac added: "Thank goodness for that. Love her character."
Sharon followed up her tweet by saying she got Jodie mixed up with Amy Robbins, who had a brief appearance in the soap as Daisy's mum, Christina.
She said: "It was Amy Robbins who went who I also enjoyed very much. I got my wires crossed in the heat of live telly, so sorry Jodie (but thank God I said she was fabulous and should stay)."
