Namita Thapar is one of the 'Sharks' on this season's Shark Tank India. The popular entrepreneur seems to have gotten into a bit of trouble because of a hateful post that apparently her 'educated househelp' posted using her Instagram account.
Recently, Namita's Instagram stories saw a photo of her, which has now been deleted. She is sporting nightwear and at her home in the picture. The caption was claimed to have been written by one of her sons.
It read, "This is Namita's son. I just want the world to know that the person you see on TV is not what you think she is. Unfollow her as soon as possible. Will explain why in due course of time."
Not just this, even her profile bio read, "Shitty mother, shittier wife."
Since the whole matter was public and blew out of proportion, Namita took to Twitter and claimed that it was her 'educated househelp' who stole her phone and made the post.
She tweeted, "This is what hate does to this world, makes people toxic. An educated house help who was removed stole my phone & put a hateful post on me on social media. Price of being a public figure! Apologies!
People, however, refused to believe Namita. A netizen wrote, "That educated house help knew the password to your phone…lmao good try, better luck next time." Another asked, "If it was a post by a house help, why is she apologizing? And more importantly, who is she apologizing to?"
Another commented, "I don't think it is done by any house help... no one will believe this script."
Shark Tank India 2 premiered on January 2. The show has 6 Sharks this time including Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Amit Jain and Peyush Bansal.
While Amit was missing in the first two weeks of the show, he is going to be seen on the show from the episode that will air on Monday, January 16. The promo shows how he'd get into a 'deal' war with Namita.
