Health Secretary Wes Streeting has confirmed the proportion of NHS cash spent on mental health is to fall (James Manning/PA) - (PA Wire)

The Government has been accused of “failing” patients with mental illness after it emerged the share of NHS spending on mental health is set to fall in the next financial year.

Health leaders described the decision, made amid soaring demand for services, as “deeply disappointing”.
