The 52-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 alum recently revealed on her podcast, Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, that talk show host Kelly Ripa offered to play cupid for her during a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark.
During the commercial break, Ripa eagerly asked Doherty if she was ready to start dating again and find herself a boyfriend. Intrigued by the idea, Doherty explained that Ripa then delved into her dating must-haves, trying to understand what exactly she was looking for in a partner. Ripa even mentioned that she had someone in mind for the actress.
Doherty was grateful for Ripa's offer and exclaimed on her podcast, 'You're one hundred percent the right person to start setting me up. I'm fine with that. Just text me and you can.' It seems like Doherty is open to the idea of finding love again, especially with Ripa's help.
The actress had previously revealed to PEOPLE in November that she was ready to move on and find love following her separation and subsequent divorce from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko. She explained that there was a trigger moment, a feeling of closure, that allowed her to finally be ready for a new relationship.
Although Doherty isn't exactly sure what her future relationship will look like, she remains optimistic and open to different possibilities. She mentioned that she has a close male friend whom she jokingly refers to as her 'husband,' but she's unsure if that's the kind of relationship she wants. She's open to stumbling upon someone and feeling an instant connection.
Doherty acknowledges that she needs to love herself and come to terms with her past before she can fully move forward, but she believes that finding someone special is in her future. With Ripa now playing the role of matchmaker, Doherty hopes that love will come her way soon.
