The man has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime suite where he remains in custody for further questioning.
Earlier on Thursday, police were granted an extension of 27 hours for the further detention of a 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, police released CCTV of two gunmen in an appeal for information as what the PSNI have described as a “cowardly and despicable attack”.
Detectives say they believe Shane was shot in an alley off Woodville Street in the Co Armagh town before staggering to Lord Lurgan Park where he died.
