Shane Lowry says there will be no issue with LIV Golf rebels at JP McManus Pro-Am

Shane Lowry won't have any problem rubbing shoulders with the LIV Golf rebels attending JP McManus' Pro-Am on Monday and Tuesday.

Among that number are top Americans Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, who will be among the big draws at Adare Manor.

Lowry's Ryder Cup team-mates Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter will also be there, as will Graeme McDowell, who was a Ryder Cup vice-captain last year.

Lowry has been vocal in his support for the PGA Tour and has insisted he will not join the Saudi-backed new tour led by Greg Norman that holds its second event this week, and its first in the US.

"Look, there's guys over there playing this week that have been friends of mine for years, and not only friends of mine but guys that I've looked up to and guys that I've learned off and get on really well with, and I still get on really well with," said Lowry.

"I'm sure we'll have a great time next Monday and Tuesday.

"So I have nothing against anyone that's over there, like absolutely nothing against them.

"It's a decision that they have made, and they have their reasons for doing that. That's all I can really say.

"It didn't ever appeal to me but it's what they decided to do. It's up to them."

Lowry paid tribute to McManus for attracting such a world-class field for his charity event.

"It's amazing that when Tiger made his announcement after the US Open he said, 'I hope to be back for the JP McManus Pro-Am'.

"He's obviously very good friends with JP and just spent a lot of time together over the years.

"Anything I ever need, you make a phone call, you know that they're looking out for you.

"They've been great for Irish golf. All this next Monday and Tuesday I think what a lot of people miss is the amount of money that is going to be raised for a charity in the local area. And I think that's what's great about it.

"I don't know how he gets the field that he does, he just has that pull, and it's great. It's great for Ireland. And I'm looking forward to it.

"When you look at what he does for horse racing in Ireland and what he does for golf in Ireland and what he does for Limerick GAA, it's incredible."
