Shane Lowry got off to a fast start at the Honda Classic on Day One of the event.
Lowry came agonisingly close to winning the event last year but fell one stroke short of Sepp Straka.
The Offaly man is only three shots off the lead after shooting an opening round two-under-par
Sitting in a tie for 14th, Lowry started his day with a bogey on the par four 10th.
But the 2019 Open Champion picked up birdies on 13 and 17 before a bogey on the second.
Lowry would go on to birdie holes six and seven to leave him well-positioned after Day One.
It wasn't a great day for two-time Honda Classic champion Padraig Harrington.
The three-time major winner struggled for birdies and bogeyed the sixth and 10th holes before his first birdie of the day on 13.
Harrington would bogey the par three 17th before finishing with a par on 18 to finish two-over par and in a tie for 83rd.
