Shameless Tories rally round Boris Johnson despite Prime Minister breaking the law

Shameless Tory MPs have rallied round the Prime Minister despite Boris Johnson accepting his Partygate fine for breaking the law.

Cabinet ministers including Nadine Dorries, Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng have supported the Prime Minister after he apologised for attending a lockdown-breaking birthday bash.

The Prime Minister claimed he didn't realise his own 56th birthday held on 19 June 2020 party during the first lockdown broke the Covid rules he set.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries said on Twitter : "PM has been clear about what happened on 19th June 2020 & offered a full apology.

"It was a brief gathering in the Cabinet Room, less than 10 minutes during a busy working day. PM is at his best when delivering on the priorities of the British people which he will continue to do."

Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng added the PM has "apologised unreservedly" calling on Brits to "put this behind us" so the Government can "get on with the job people elected us to do".

But only six of those ministers so far have also publicly backed Chancellor Rishi Sunak who has paid his Covid fine, according to reports.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove, Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Justice Secretary Dominic Raab all made sure to rally round Mr Sunak too.

Mr Sunak was previously touted as a future leader of the Conservative party before widespread reports about his wife's tax situation, his disastrous Spring Statement and bonkers photo-op attempts.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps noted he shares the public's anger over Partygate becuase he was unable to visit his dad in hospital for four months.

"But I also recognise the PM has apologised, accepted responsibility and reformed No10. Now, as he leads the West's response fo Putin's evil war he has my full support."
