‘Shame on you’: Met Police chief heckled as he fails to say if Jewish people are safe in London

Sir Mark Rowley was heckled with chants of “shame on you” after a terrorist incident was declared in Golders Green following the stabbing of two Jewish men on Wednesday (29 April).

A bystander also shouted “Mark Rowley resign now” as the Metropolitan Police Commissioner and the Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis met at the scene in north London.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the attack in Golders Green, police said.

Sir Mark paid tribute to the police officers who attended the scene, after telling reporters that the suspect has a history of serious violence.
