Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has announced a new head of its Edinburgh office.
Across a three-year term, banking partner Grant Docherty will lead plans to grow the Scottish hub.
“Location means a lot to us and our clients and, unlike other firms that are retreating from local office footprints, we are expanding,“ he commented. “We are continuing to provide tailored Scots law services to our clients and investing in recruitment and quality training to expand our resources.
“I am looking forward to working with our clients and contacts within the country to unlock that potential and continue to evolve our Edinburgh hub’s dynamic culture and positive environment.”
With more than 32 years’ experience, Docherty heads up Shakespeare Martineau’s banking practice in Scotland.
He has worked across all areas of banking, including property, acquisition, renewables, investment funds, large corporates and project finance – working for banks, corporate borrowers and regulators.
Shakespeare Martineau is part of legal and professional services group Ampa, which employs more than 1,400 people across 18 hubs in the UK, and is actively recruiting to build teams.
