Quarter of Covent Garden sold to Norway's wealth fund for £570 million

Covent Garden’s biggest landlord Shaftesbury Capital has sold a 25% share in an estate that includes the world famous central piazza, to the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund for £570 million.

Shaftesbury Capital said it had agreed the deal, which values the estate at £2.7 billion, after debt is taken into account, with Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM).
