Sexual assault after online job advertisements: Indian-origin man arrested, charged in Canada, released on bail next day

sexual assault Canada Police Brampton Halton

47-year-old Tejinder Dhaliwal was arrested and charged with sexual assault in Brampton after investigations into two incidents where victims were contacted through online job postings and then sexually assaulted led the cops to Dhaliwal. Halton Police released a photo of the man as they believe there may be additional victims. But Dhaliwal was released on bail on January 27, a day after he was arrested.

The investigators believe that the online job advertisements were posted to exploit females seeking employment. Two such incidents were reported to the Halton Police -- one in March 2025 and the second one in December 2025.
