SEVERAL CalMac ferry routes have been cancelled on Saturday as a result of bad weather.
The ferry operator had warned that services would be disrupted as the Met Office issued a yellow wind warning across Scotland.
Gusts of up to 80mph are expected in some parts of the country with CalMac having advised people to travel on Friday if at all possible.
According to the operator’s website, 30 out of 30 routes are affected though the following have been cancelled for the remainder of today:
- Ardmhor (Barra) – Eriskay
- Ardrossan – Brodick
- Berneray – Leverburgh
- Claonaig - Lochranza - Tarbert (Loch Fyne)
- Fionnphort - Iona
- Gallanach - Kerrera
- Largs - Cumbrae Slip (Millport)
- Lochaline - Fishnish
- Mallaig – Armadale
- Mallaig – Lochboisdale – Oban
- Mallaig – Eigg – Muck – Rum – Canna
- Oban - Craignure
- Oban - Castlebay
- Oban – Coll – Tiree
- Oban – Collonsay – Port Askaig (Islay) – Kennacraig
- Oban – Lismore
- Sconser - Raasay
- Tarbert (Loch Fyne) - Portavadie
- Tayinloan - Gigha
- Tobermory - Kilchoan
- Troon – Brodick
- Uig – Lochmaddy
- Uig – Tarbert (Harris)
- Ullapool - Stornoway
- Wemyss Bay - Rothesay
A number of services listed on the website are listed as having one or more sailings disrupted already.
Other routes meanwhile are listed under “be aware” meaning that sailings are “subject to delays and possible cancellations”.
