Trains to and from Nottingham have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train. EMR has closed the line between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street after the incident.
The rail operator said this would disrupt trains on its Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich route. In a statement on its website, EMR said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich route.
"At present emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. They are expected on site shortly."

Trains running through the area in both directions between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street are unable to run. At present EMR is expecting the line to re-open in the next 3 hours.
As soon as the line is open again, EMR has said its priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. the operator expects the advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 12noon.
