The Scottish SPCA are appealing for information after a seriously ill Staffordshire bull terrier had to be put to sleep on welfare grounds after being discovered abandoned in woodlands.
The female brindle and white dog was found in the Udston and Glenlee community woodlands and handed in to the Vets4Pets Hamilton branch by a member of the public.
Inspector Dawn Murrie said: “The dog was in a very poor state, emaciated and covered in faeces and urine.
