On Monday night, a string of five separate shootings occurred on Interstate 5 in King County, Washington, as per police reports. While all incidents took place on I-5, authorities have not confirmed if the shootings are linked, stated the Washington State Patrol on social media.
The first shooting incident was reported on northbound I-5 at 320th, where a passenger sustained injuries. Following the shooting, the victim sought help at a nearby fire station and received medical attention before being transported to Harborview Medical Center. The victim described the suspect as driving a white Volvo with California plates. Subsequently, local police arrested a suspect after locating the mentioned vehicle.
Approximately 15 minutes later, another shooting was reported on northbound I-5 at MLK. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident, but a vehicle was damaged. Shortly after, state patrol received another call about a shooting on northbound I-5 at I-90, where a passenger was injured.
No detailed suspect vehicle description has been provided for the second and third shootings, according to state patrol. Later on, two more shootings were reported on I-5, one near State Route 18 and another near 54th in Pierce County. The suspect's vehicle in these two shootings matched the description from the initial incident near 320th. Injuries were reported in these last two shootings, with a 20-year-old woman listed in critical condition and taken to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Department crews.
The investigations into these shootings are ongoing as authorities work to gather more information and identify any potential connections between the incidents.
