Sergio Aguero reveals Man City squad reaction to 115 charges hearing date

Sergio Aguero insists the Manchester City squad will be unaffected by the club’s looming FFP (Financial Fair Play) hearing, which is due to start on Monday.

City have been charged with breaching Premier League’s FFP regulations with 115 individual charges between 2009 and 2018.

The hearing comes 18 months after the initial charges were announced, while a final verdict including any appeal should be reached by the end of this season.

It comes during an important period for City, who face Brentford on Saturday before hosting Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday and then welcoming title rivals Arsenal next Sunday.

But Aguero - the club’s all-time leading goalscorer - believes Guardiola’s squad will not be thrown off course.

"I don't think it's had an impact,” Aguero told GOAL. “You can see it when we play. There's the same mettle, the same desire to win.”

When asked about City’s charges at the beginning of the year, Aguero was adamant that the club’s success was won fairly.

"I can say that our achievements as a team, on the field, were won with effort and sportsmanship,” he said.

La Liga president Javier Tebas claims that most Premier League clubs want City to be sanctioned over the 115 charges.

"I have spoken with many Premier League clubs and most of them understand that City should be sanctioned," Tebas said.

He added "they were once acquitted by the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) for a formal matter,” suggesting the reversal of the UEFA ban only came on a technicality.

City have made a superb start to the season, winning all three of their Premier League games and sitting top of the table.
