Ousmane Dembele’s potential transfer to Bayern Munich could prove to be a blessing for Arsenal. The surprising deal could open the door for Serge Gnabry to leave the Bundesliga champions.
According to French news outlet L’equipe, Bayern are in talks with Dembele about a potential move in the summer. The 25-year-old’s contract at Barcelona expires in the summer, meaning he can join another club on a free transfer.
If he decides to join Bayern, then Gnabry’s place in the squad is in jeopardy as they cover the same position. The German has already hinted at an exit, and Dembele’s move could put more confirmation on Gnabry’s departure which Arsenal should look to explore.

Earlier in the season German outlet Bild had claimed that Gnabry and his representatives are demanding £12.5m-a-year in wages to sign a new contract. But Bayern are yet to agree to these terms, which has put talks currently on hold.
This was followed by German news outlet Sport1,'s claim that Gnabry’s desire to leave Bayern is not only about the money. The player wants to feel like he has an important role in the team, and wishes to play in a more central position rather than on the wing.
This seems like the perfect move for Arsenal, as the north London side will need to sign a forward in the summer transfer window. Gnabry began his career with the Gunners before moving to the Bundesliga to join Werder Bremen and then Bayern and a return to north London certainly seems possible.
Arsenal will be in desperate need of two new strikers in the summer transfer window, with both Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah's days looking increasingly numbered. Both players’ contracts are set to expire at the end of the season and they have been linked with moves away from the club.
The German would be an excellent acquisition at the end of the season, as his versatility could prove key for Mikel Arteta. There is certainly unfinished business for Gnabry, which was proved when he dropped a potential transfer hint by saying he is “Always a Gunner”. According to CIES football observatory , he will cost around the £60m mark, which is a deal that could certainly be worth the cost.
Arsenal have already identified Serge Gnabry as a transfer target according to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, as the Gunners are one of the clubs interested in securing his signature at the end of the season.
Dembele’s move to Bayern Munich would certainly be welcomed by Arsenal even if they were once interested in the Frenchman’s signature. A transfer reunion for Gnabry to Arsenal would be a deal every Gooner would love to see.
