A senior Tory MP has become the first to announce he plans to stand to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.
Tom Tugendhat, who chairs the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, threw his hat in the ring after being critical of the Government's handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
It comes as the Prime Minister could finally get sight of the highly anticipated "partygate" inquiry report from senior civil servant Sue Gray as early as this weekend, after police insisted they had not delayed its publication.
