
Two of Britain’s most senior police officers have spoken in favour of press freedom after journalists covering Just Stop Oil protests were arrested.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley and chairman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council Martin Hewitt both acknowledged the importance of journalists being able to do their jobs freely when asked about the issue on Wednesday.
