Many Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists who have been associated with the party since its inception recalled their four decades of political journey and memorable moments during the party’s 40 th Foundation Day celebrations here on Tuesday.
The activists from every nook and corner made the district a bastion for the TDP, which however, faced setbacks in the 2019 elections.
Nadipilli Ravikumar, one of the senior most activists, was felicitated by party Vizianagaram parliamentary wing In charge Kimidi Nagarjuna and other leaders.
Mr. Ravikumar told the media that he had joined the TDP inspired by the speeches of the party founder N.T. Rama Rao who led the party to a landslide victory within a few months of forming it. “Being a part of TDP family gives me more happiness than party posts and personal achievements. TDP will bounce back in A.P. as it has a committed network of activists,” he said.
The party leaders hoisted flags and distributed sweets at Ashok Gajapathi Raju’s bungalow and other places. They garlanded the statues of N.T. Rama Rao at Ayyannapeta, Duppada and other places.
