Egypt hold a slender lead over Senegal as the two sides meet again in tonight’s World Cup play-off second leg.
While unfortunate, Saliou Ciss’s own goal proved the difference in Cairo on Friday, giving Mohamed Salah’s side the advantage. As with the Africa Cup of Nations final earlier this year, there was very little to separate the teams.
Sadio Mane and Senegal did little to carve out many genuine openings in the Egyptian capital and know conceding again would make their task even greater with away goals still in play here - it would leave them needing to score at least three.
Still, as champions of Africa playing on home soil, this is where legends are made. One of the continent’s greatest sides over the last few years, they certainly have the quality to turn this around.

Senegal vs Egypt prediction
Senegal aren’t a team renowned for scoring goals and, with Egypt having such a fierce counter-attack, it’s hard to see them keeping the back door shut when pressing forward.
