Send your Les Paul’s sustain into the stratosphere with FU-Tone’s new BRASS Stop Tail & Tune-O-Matic Bridge Set

FU-Tone chrome stoptail.

FU-Tone head Adam Reiver has long been one of our favorite guests to welcome into Guitar World’s studios, especially because he always comes equipped with the latest in FU-Tone’s amazing hardware upgrades.

And this time is no different.

What Adam has to show us, this time, however, is quite different for FU-Tone. While the company is known for its locking tremolo bridge upgrades, Adam has something special up his sleeve – the FU-Tone BRASS Stop Tail & Tune-O-Matic Bridge Set, made of 100 percent brass and perfect for anyone looking to kick their Les Paul-style guitar up a notch or three.

As Adam tells Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario of the new set, “It looks like a Les Paul tailpiece, it smells like it, it tastes like it… it just doesn’t sound like it.

Indeed it does not. What you get with the new set, which is also available in a chrome-plated version, is more sustain, more definition, more warmth and more note separation.

The bridge is available in both ABR-1 (Tune-O-Matic Posts screw right into the body) or Nashville-style (Tune-O-Matic Posts screw into a threaded insert) versions, and either way, it’s an easy, drop-in swap.

How easy?

Just watch as Adam helps transform two of Paul’s Les Pauls into supercharged riff machines.

After demo-ing the guitars with their stock hardware and then the FU-Tone upgrades, the difference is clear. “It’s already louder,” Paul remarks after a few unplugged strums. Once he cranks his amp and adds some distortion, he admires how the  tone “just slices.”

“What can I say?” Paul remarks. “This is definitely an upgrade for both guitars. You can hear it plugged in and you hear it acoustically as well. I would say if your Les Paul is sounding anemic and needs a little bit of life” – or, Adam adds, “if your Les Paul sounds great and you want to kick it up a notch” – “this is what you need. The stop tail and Tune-O-Matic brass from FU-Tone. I highly recommend it.”
