President Biden is set to meet with the top four leaders in Congress today to discuss aid to Ukraine. The Senate has passed a bill to provide support, but it is currently blocked in the House by Republican Senator Mike Johnson, who has refused to bring it to a vote. President Biden is hoping to persuade Senator Johnson to reconsider his stance.

One of the key issues at hand is the looming deadline for a partial government shutdown at the end of the week. While the Senate has successfully passed bipartisan bills on various topics such as border security and Ukraine aid, the House Speaker has not taken action on these measures.

Senator Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota emphasized the Senate's bipartisan support for crucial appropriations bills covering areas like agriculture, veterans affairs, and transportation. These bills have garnered significant backing, with 80 to 90 senators in agreement.

Senator Klobuchar expressed concern about the potential impact of a government shutdown on the economy, particularly as the country is still recovering from challenges. She highlighted the importance of avoiding any setbacks that could affect small business owners and families trying to make ends meet.

The Senator stressed the urgency for the House to reach a decision and prevent a government shutdown, underscoring the need to keep the economy moving forward. She emphasized that finding a resolution is crucial to ensuring stability and progress for all Americans.
