A key senator on the Armed Services Committee, Roger Wicker, has voiced his support for President Donald Trump's Secretary of Defense nominee, Pete Hegseth, amidst allegations that have surfaced during the nomination process.

Wicker criticized recent reports that questioned Hegseth's character, labeling them as 'starkly and factually inaccurate.' He emphasized that the FBI background investigation on Hegseth, which he has been briefed on three times, did not reveal any disqualifying information.
