Selma Blair launches pyjamas collection inspired by MS diagnosis

Selma Blair reveals plans for new pyjama collection

Selma Blair is launching a pyjama collection inspired by her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

The 52-year-old star - who has appeared in the likes of Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions and Hellboy - was diagnosed with MS in August 2018, and it was around that time she first met the team at women-owned lifestyle brand Mersea.

She told WWD: "I was going through a lot of treatments, and I had just been diagnosed [with multiple sclerosis] after we [the cofounders and Blair] met, and I got this really amazing care package in the mail.

"I was in bed, but in these cashmere pieces. When I was being treated in the hospital, I was also wearing things that felt rich, and I felt taken care of, and it was from these women.

“I always wear their things. When I started getting better, I got in touch, and said ‘Would you be interested in doing this collaboration?’”

When it came to settling on pyjamas for the Sea La Vie by Selma Blair collection, it was an easy decision.

She admitted: “I like bed a lot. When people say what’s your bedtime ritual, I’m like, ‘Pyjamas. Go to bed, don’t talk to me.’”

Selma - who explained some days she has to stay in bed to recover as a result of her MS - spent around nine to 10 months working on the collaboration.

She has put her own life story into the collection, including self-love motif embroidery, a sleep jacket inspired by her family, and a bandana paying tribute to her service dog, Scout.

When it comes to the future, Selma isn't sure if the collaboration is just for one season, or if they could continue the partnership.

She joked: "Well, it depends if someone buys it, and then they’ll have me back. But otherwise we might just be friends."

The sleepwear range comes after Selma launched her first skin product with ESK in September 2025, having seen her skin become inflamed before she was diagnosed with MS.

She told WWD at the time: "Once I used this ESK calming cleanser for a week, I noticed a difference in the inflammation, and the rosacea went down.

"I knew Retin-A was too active for me, and I sought out the brand because I loved that I could get this online and that it wouldn't be aggravating."

Earlier in 2025, Selma revealed she is "truly in remission" following her 2018 diagnosis.

She told PEOPLE: "I am doing amazingly well. I've been feeling great for about a year. But I am finally well enough to really, genuinely …

"I always try and feel my best, but now that I actually have stamina and energy and getting out and going out isn't so scary."
