Selling Sunset's Jason says Chrishell break up is 'biggest loss I've ever dealt with'

Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim sounds like he regrets losing Chrishell Stause as his girlfriend after they decided to cancel their romance over differing views about having children.

The reality duo embarked on an unexpected romance last year after meeting and working together at 45-year-old Jason’s Los Angeles based estate agency, The Oppenheim Group – which features on the hit Netflix show.

While Selling Sunset was initially pitched as a reality show all about the extravagant, multi-million dollar properties on sale in the City of Angels, the real estate has ultimately taken a back seat to the lives and drama of the reality show’s cast.

And season five – which became available to stream last week – captured the beginning and end of Jason and 40-year-old Chrishell's romance.

Over the course of the season, viewers see fellow Oppenheim Group employees predict wedding bells for Jason and Chrishell, with the couple themselves discussing children, the romance ultimately collapses as Chrishell delivers an ultimatum over having children.

Now in an interview with new! magazine, Jason has hinted he regret throwing away the relationship as cameras showed him refusing to settle down or start a family.

He told the magazine: “Season five is going to make me relive a lot of sadness, pain and loss. That’s not something I’m looking forward to.

“As excited as I am about season five – I honestly think it’s out best season ever and I hope we get an Emmy – my excitement is tempered by the fact I don’t want to relive the most difficult loss I’ve ever had to deal with.

“I’m still working through a lot of emotion and pain and sadness. I think that could take a while.”

He continued: “Obviously I was completely in love and still love her. That was the most real relationship I’ve ever had. I will always have unbelievable love and respect for Chrishell. I hold her in the highest regard.”

Jason says he is now being bombarded by randy fans who are sending him sexually explicit messages online and via his phone as they now know he is back on the market.

The reality star – worth a reported £40 million – explained: “I get a lot of nudity and sexts from women asking if I want to cuddle. I don’t click on most of them because I can tell they’re nothing I need to be looking at.

“They reach out through DMs or the somehow get my phone number and text. One texted me today, saying, ‘Come over for lunch.’ It’s just weird!”

He went on to explain that he doesn’t anticipate starting dating too soon as he is still “reeling” from his break-up from Chrishell.

Meanwhile, Chrishell herself – who was married to hunky This Is Us actor Justin Hartley from 2017 until 2021 – is rumoured to be dating 27-year-old Australian musician G Flip after fans notice the pair have shared flirty exchanges on social media and attended the premiere of Bridgerton together.
