The Selling Sunset reunion aired today on Netflix and gave viewers exactly what they wanted - answers to some of our burning questions and a whole lot of drama. And one thing on every fan’s lips was an update on Chrishell and Jason’s relationship.
And the reunion provided exactly that - with Jason Oppenheim breaking down in tears while talking about the relationship and subsequent breakup, the Independent reports. Asked about whether the relationship had been some kind of “showmance”, he denied it.
He said when quizzed on “showmance” claims on the Netflix show: “I hesitate to answer that question because I don’t want to give any credence… it’s a stupid question to me. I don’t feel the need to explain to people.” The rest of the cast comforted him as he spoke.

The pair’s relationship was a whirlwind and a very prominent feature of season five of Selling Sunset - the much-loved Netflix series following a group of high-end agents (The Oppenheim Group) in their personal and work lives.
Jason continued: “There’s a lot of sadness and loss. I think watching the show made it more difficult - it brought it back up. It’s been a few months, but I’m still just going through stuff. I think there was a lot of love between us and there still is. I still care about her very much. This has been a very difficult break-up.”
The couple first got together in July 2021, after loved-up photos of them surfaced online during a cast holiday. Sadly, they broke up in December, and for many, this is the first time hearing Jason speak openly about the breakup. Chrishell was first engaged to actor Matthew Morrison, before marrying actor Justin Hartley in 2017. The pair divorced in November 2019.
