Injured Brisbane ruckman Oscar McInerney's positivity and determination helped inspire his replacement Darcy Fort in the Lions' grand final thumping of Sydney.

McInerney has been a key part of the Lions' rise up the AFL ladder, but missed playing in the club's crowning moment after twice dislocating his shoulder in the classic preliminary final win against Geelong.
